Ok, now we can continue. Pretty funny eh!? Ya she thought so lol. But what kind of sister would I be if I never did a post about her! So as my sister Mindy stated that I am the pro at ugly faces (And yes I have some good ones) But the real truth to the story is I learned them from her! Yes, Mindy forgot to mention that she taught me how to make ugly faces and I have proof...

I KNOW RIGHT! Yes she is the BEST at it! K, don't mind the outfit or the hair, we're looking at the face here people! Ha. K now to the part about the christmas tree costume. Pretty hilarious!!! I don't blame Mindy for not wanting to put a picture up from when she wore the one my mom made but I think it was because she never had access to a picture. BUT... I DO! I found an album of my mom's with a halloween picture in it and luckily there she was. Mindy-The Christmas Tree! BAHAHAH! (Love you Min!!!)

Aren't we cute!? I think all these costumes my mom made, we always had the best ones. Don't you think??? I'm not sure what my mom was exactly thinking when she thought Mindy should be a Christmas Tree for Halloween... But she did get first place at school! LOVE YOU MIN!

Summer fun

Hey bloggers!!! Well Ones that read this ha. I haven't blogged in a very long time, since March! This year since Laynie was born has been INSANE! Jeff has had 2 elbow surgeries and his gall bladder removed (which may I add, didn't solve anything) It sucks having his health so low right now but we're hoping he's back to normal sooner than later. So this past year I've kind of been a single mother taking care of my hubby and Laynie. It hasn't been to bad but it has been such a big help having awesome family around to help! Other than all that, nothing much has happened. We have just been enjoying our time together, even though Jeff's been sick, and hanging out a home most the time. This summer we got out a few times with family. Went to Red Rock, Waterton Dam for boating, Kalispell/Big Sky Waterslides for 2 days, been to the public outdoor pool, and of course had a few trips to Lethbridge. Our biggest event to happen is Laynie turned 1!!! I can't believe a whole year has gone by, it's so crazy! She is getting so big and learning so much. She isn't walking yet but yesterday took a few steps if she "thought" I was hanging onto her lol, she has 0 teeth but maybe soon, she folds her arms, claps, plays peek-a-boo, waves hi/bye, she eats anything we give her (her favorites are bananas and any sort of snack) I bet she can eat a banana faster than anyone I know! Ha she downs a whole one within 45 secs at least! Her favorite show is Backyardigans and she loves sitting in her new princess chair and watch the show with her dolly and a snack of course. She loves getting into everything! She loves the bathrooms and our bedroom for some reason. She is a waterbaby and has been since she was born! She loves baths and swimming in any water. She even liked Red Rock and that water is FREEZING! She loves coming shopping with me and riding in the cart. She is always super good when we go places and just likes to watch everyone and what they are doing. I could go on and on with the things she does but I don't want to brag to much ;)

For sale! Yes our house is on the market and we are wanting to sell it asap and rent something cheaper. Jeff is in the application process for the RCMP so we're hoping once his elbow heals fully, he can finish and hopefully get accepted! It would be such a blessing financially and it's a good stable job. So if he does get in, he will be at training for 6 months in Regina and it would be better to be in something smaller and less up-keep while he's gone. It's going to be hard with him not here but I'm all for it because I know he'll love his job and it would be so good for us in the long run!

Birthday parties of course! On thursday was my mom's birthday! We went to my parents house to celebrate with family and friends. Jeff only came for a little bit because he is super sick, now we know it's strep :( He has the worst luck with getting sick and a very low immune system! sucky! Anyways, we had dinner and opened presents and just visited for the evening. It was lots of fun!

Last night, Jeff stayed home, while I went out to Mountain View with Laynie to celebrate our friend's, Josh and Kim's, little boys 1st Birthday! I love when we can get together with friends and just have a good time hanging out and visiting. The kids had so much fun too!

LOVED the arrowroot cookie! May I point out the "loved" part... I should have taken the advice of my wise sister, Mindy, sooner, because the other day Laynie broke a piece off and started choking on it. Exactly why Mindy didn't give her kids them. Luckily I was able to get it out! No more arrowroot cookies for her.

She loves her laundry basket. Right now it holds all her toys and she will play with the edge of it all the time. So we decided to give her a little ride in it :)

6 months already!

My little lady is already 6 months! Well technically not till tomorrow but what's one day? It feels like it's been longer than 6 months but then other days, it feels like time has flown by! She is learning and growing so much! Yesterday we went to her 6 month check-up. She now weighs 16 lbs. 14 oz., 27 inches long and healthy as ever! There is one thing we have noticed since Laynie was born and that is that her ears are different sizes! Most people would never notice, but being her parents of course we do! Hopefully she doesn't get teased later in life ahha! There is something new she is learning all the time and it makes me so excited! She is now talking all the time, grabbing toys, looks at you when you call her name, rolling over both ways, almost sitting up by herself, getting up on her hands and knees, scoots around everywhere, and eating solids! She loves sweet potatoes, peas, and rice cereal but is very unsure of fruit lol. The way Laynie gets around the living room is by going on her hands and feet and pushing her toes so she scoots forward. It's so funny to watch how quick she is at it! Laynie is now to big for the swing and bouncy chair! Crazy I know, but sometimes I still use the chair because she loves it so much! She is now taking good naps and sleeping longer at night, even though she'll wake up a couple times, she'll go to sleep right away and still gets in about 12 hours! I don't know what life would be without her! She is so entertaining and I would go insane being at home alone without her! She recognizes Jeff and I as Mom and Dad but will play strange with family and friends all the time! She has a classic face for it to! I know she is going to have such a personality by the time she is one and it's crazy to think that is in another 6 months! Sleep deprived?

So the other day I was on the computer and I glanced over at Laynie and this is what I found...

TA DA!!!

What a big girl she is getting! She is learning so quickly. Ever since she was born she has been so strong and smart! I just love her to pieces... Come on, how could you not with those cheeks!?

So when Laynie was born I had a friend recommend this book and until recently, I never read it. Now I wish I had! It has been such a big help with Laynie's sleep and mine. I can now get Laynie to nap twice a day for 1 1/2hrs - 2 1/2hrs and it works miracles when it comes to the night time. Normally Laynie was waking up 3 times-ish in the night and now she's so much better! Last night for instance, because of the book, we now put Laynie to bed at 8:30 (which use to be 10:00). She slept straight till 4:00 a.m., I fed her, and back to bed she went till 9:00!!! So much better than before and I get good sleep to! I recommend this book to any of you sleep deprived mom's... Or if you are just looking for little more alone time with your hubby!!!

These past couple weeks I have been browsing DIY blogs like crazy! I found some super cute stuff I've made/going to make. When I make stuff, I always have that proud moment for myself after it's complete! It makes me feel so good that I did it and didn't just buy it from the store. Our baby girl is getting so big, so today while Jeff was at Physio, I got the guts to finally get Laynie's ear's pierced!!! I wanted to get them done a couple months ago but couldn't face myself to do it and put her through the pain. So today I finally did and of course she cried pretty good but got over it within a mintue. I think they look adorable on her and when I surprised Jeff, he loved them!!! So here is our happy girl with a little "bling" to go with her cute face!

We finally took our baby girl swimming!!! I have been wanting to for the past month or so and we finally got some friends together and all went! Laynie did so good! She never fussed or cried and we even put her under the water 4 times! She was such a good girl! We were going to borrow a swimsuit from a friend of mine for Laynie, but luckily we found the cutest little swimsuit at the mall right before we went! So here are the lack of pictures we got because everytime we turned the camera on it would fog up seconds later! Oh well at least we got some and besides, we had a ton of fun!!!

So yesterday we took Laynie to get her first shots! Ya we are a little late, but better late than never right? The first shot they did, she didn't even cry! She just sat there wondering what had just happened! Then the second and third she cried but was over it within one minute after a few cuddles from daddy and mommy! We then took her to the pediatrician for a check up appointment to see how well she is doing with her weight gain. She is now 4 months old (where has the time gone!?) and weighs 14lbs. 5oz. and a big 25in. long!!! That puts her in the 75 percentile with her weight and last check up she was only in the 45 percentile! I'm so glad she is growing so well! She has her little rolls that I LOVE to death and I think her legs are pretty cute too with the thigh roll :) Her hair is getting really long but unfortunately it has "thinned" a little lol poor girl, but hoping it'll thicken out soon! She's such a blessing in mine and Jeff's life! And back to this post, how the song says, "Never Grow Up", well it's too late, she's already on her way!

New Year!

It's a new year and I'm positive it is going to be GREAT!! With baby Laynie in our lives now, there is nothing but good in the future! She is getting so big and learning so much! She is now rolling over both ways, grabbing her toys, jumping in the Jumperoo, giggling(only when she wants to), smiling so much, and the one I am loving-Sleeping so good at night! We put her to bed around 9:30 now and she'll sleep till 2:30-4:00 and back to bed she goes (within 15mins that is) till 7:30 or so. When I'm really tired we fall asleep together after that till 9:30! She is such a good baby and we are so blessed! On Monday she gets her first shots! I'm not to thrilled, that's why I have been putting it off. But it needs to get done and then we will take her for her check-up with the Pediatrician to see how she's doing. I'm sure it'll go really good! We were going to get her ears pierced that day too, but I figure the shots are good for one day! Jeff's elbow is healing up very well and he'll start physio right away. Hopefully back to work it is sometime in February! I've been enjoying every minute of him being home with us! It's nice to have someone to talk to all day and having him around to hang out with! We have just been pretty lazy ha watching movies, playing PS3 (yes I will play with him ha), playing with Laynie, and our newest thing-Watching George Lopez(the t.v. show) And if you have never watched it, DO IT!!! It's so funny! We use to watch Reba all the time and once we were done all those seasons we missed it! But now we have George Lopez and it's just as funny! This year is going to be eventful (we hope) Jeff's wanting to start school in the fall and we have been talking about where he should go. We also would need to sell the house to make that happen, even if it was in Lethbridge, I would rather live in the city and rent. So we're crossing our fingers, that for when we do need to sell it'll happen! Cross your fingers! Hope everyones holidays were fun and a Happy New Year to you all!

Crazy life... And I love it!

Our crazy life is wonderful!!! We recently had our whole family here for Halloween and Laynie's baby blessing! My sister Kristy and her Husband stayed at my house. It was so much fun to have someone staying at our house for a change! She has 2 little boys. Gavin who is 2 1/2yrs old and Deklin who is 3 weeks older than Laynie. It was such a blast having more kids around the house! Our oldest sister Mindy, her husband Dustin, and their 3 girls (oh, and one surprise on the way!) stayed at the parents house. Friday for our ward's Halloween party we all went and dressed up! There was food and treats :), a costume parade for all the kids and also, trick or treating! They all loved it and pretty sure some got sick with how much candy they ate! Laynie got tons of candy too! Well, for Jeff and I that is :) She looked so cute in her little costume and was so good the whole time! The blessing was on Sunday and we had it here at our house! There was about 50 people here!!! Some of you may think I'm insane and are thinking how stressful it was, but in all honestly, I was so relaxed about it all! But I don't think we'll have that many people here again for a while ha. Oh and I forgot the week before Halloween, we had a Halloween party here at the house with some close friends. We played games and ate food and visited! It was good to just hang out with other couples and catch up. The rest of the time the family was here was filled with fun and I look forward to the next time to see the sisters! Hopefully not to far down the road!

It's been good lately! Being parents is a lot of work but we're enjoying every minute with our precious baby girl! We're exhausted and tired and we run out of patience sometimes but when I see Laynie smile at me every day I know it's all for her! To make her life the best it can be. To make her happy. I love being a mom! I ran across this song today and started tearing up. I keep saying I'm excited for Laynie to get bigger so she can laugh with us and talk to us but once I listened to this song, it hit me how fast it is already going by! I love her little smile. I love her little fingers and toes. And how could you not love her little baby bottom! And one day that'll be gone and all we will have are pictures of those memories. So for now, I will love her for her tiny self and everything she is! I hope time slows down so I can soak in every minute we spend as a family while Laynie is our little baby girl!

The Schaffer Family!

FINALLY!!! Our little baby... GIRL is here!!! Laynie Lynn Schaffer born September 10, 2010 at 10:47a.m. She weighed 7lbs 13oz. 20in long. I must say she is the cutest little baby girl ever and we are so glad she is all ours! Since being home it has definitely been a big adjustment with emotions and stress and lack of sleep but also along with smiles and laughs! We know it will get easier so we've been told a hundred times but being new parents is tough! I don't think anyone will ever realize the work and change it is until it happens to themselves. All our time goes into making sure she has everything she needs! It for sure has made me realize that Jeff and I come second but I won't complain! She is such a blessing in our lives and already has made Jeff and I as a couple grow stronger in our marriage! I don't know what I would do without him! He is always there for me to cry on when I'm having a rough day and reminds me it'll all be ok. I have been quite weepy this first week but it's getting better! Laynie has been such a wonderful baby! She chooses the nights she wants to sleep good and then of course the ones she wants to cry. One night she slept from 10 till 6 in the morning!!!! It was so crazy! Jeff woke up at 6 and starting getting a bottle ready but figured he may have slept through me feeding her sometime in the night. So he woke me up and asked if I had which I didn't! We were both pretty shocked cause then she'll have nights where she is up for 4hrs crying on and off. She tends to suck on the bottle funny with her tongue which leads to her swollowing a ton of air and upsetting her stomach which then leads to her crying in pain. It is so sad to see her in pain and not really be able to do anything. We have now started to burp her often while feeding and are going to try this new formula, Similac sensitive, which is suppose to help with colic. So crossing our fingers it'll help with her gases. I tried breast feeding then decided to pump and feed with a bottle but it's a lot of work! I was pretty set on breast feeding but I think with how stressed I was letting myself get and hormones changing that I needed to do what I could to help relieve some of it, so we have officially decided to go with formula and I'm loving it!!! We're taking it day to day with a new baby and I think we're starting to get the hang of things and stay positive about it all!

So now for the labor and delivery story! I think I got lucky with how well it went that's for sure! 1:30 Friday morning I woke up and went tot he washroom and kind of felt a small gush. I wasn't sure, being a first time prego, if it was my water that broke or just the usual discharge pregnant woman experience. So being the laid back person I am, I got on the computer and looked up more info on your water breaking. After reading a bunch of stuff I figured it was my water. Just to make sure I laid on the couch for a bit then got up and I felt another gush followed by contractions being 4-5mins apart. I then finally woke Jeff up at 2:00. Yes yes I never woke him up right away and everyone wonders why but it's because I wasn't sure if it really was my water breaking. I went into the bedroom...

"Babe, I think my water broke." I said it really calmly so I didn't freak him out or anything.
Jeff says, "Ok, see you babe!"

So we headed to the hospital here in C-town to get assessed before heading to Lethbridge. They confirmed my water had broke and that I was 4cm dilated. So we flew to Lethbridge going a whopping 160km/hr!!! We got there about 3:00 and they checked me again and said I was only 3cm dilated and that there was probably no chance I was going to get into my own room because of how busy they were. The nurse even said that after delivery that I would probably not get a private room. We weren't so happy to hear that but we figured whatever, nothing we can do about it! Within 15 minutes they got me into my own delivery room. They lied!! Well technically not really but still ha. So we got into the room and got as settled as I could be. My contractions were then 1 1/2 mintues apart and very strong. I even got into the bath and could not relax enough to get through a contraction. I was exhausted and finally gave in to get an epidural!!! Luckily, the anesthesiologist was in already around and was in the room within 10 minutes (6:00a.m.) He did an amazing job!!! I was nervous to get it but with my contractions I didn't really care. So i held 2 pillows and held onto Jeff while he did the procedure. I hardly felt anything! I was sweating like crazy with how bad my contractions were while getting the epidural and I was also making Jeff sweat at the same time! After getting the shot, I was pain free within 10 mintues except for the pressure in my butt, which is where I was feeling the contractions when they would come. I had to go to the washroom really bad so the nurse and Jeff grabbed me on each side to get me there but oddly enough I didn't need the help! My legs were more of a "sleeping" feeling rather than completely numb. It was wicked nice! By 7:30, because of the epidural letting me relax and not tense up, I was already dilated to an 8! By 9:30 I was dilated fully which is when the nurse had me start pushing to get the babies head down further before the doctor showed up. Once the doctor did get there is went by fast! I was tearing really good which Jeff said he could have cried from watching. I'm glad I never felt it happen! By 10:47a.m. Laynie was born! When she first came out we both thought she was a boy from how swollen she was down there but they they flipped her tummy up and then we heard, "IT'S A GIRL!" We were both so happy! Jeff grabbed the camera and video camera and was over to her right away to get pictures and everything! It took a good 20-30mins for the doctor to stitch me up which I was not wanting but what can you do right? I then showered and got cleaned up and within half hour we were going to a new room, a PRIVATE room!!! The nurse had said 110% that wouldn't get a private room but we did! We were so glad because who wants to share a room with another parent and their newborn? Not us! We were in hospital till Sunday afternoon because they wanted to make sure my swelling went down and my iron went up. I didn't even know till being discharged that I had lost a ton of blood and my hemoglobin was only at 88! It then made sense why I was so pale! I still am but we find out tomorrow what it's at so cross your fingers it's getting back to normal! So that is the story! I was in labor for 9 1/2 hours and happy with how it went! So now we are home as a family and loving it!

Officially Overdue...

K so we have patience and have been doing good keeping it with this baby not coming out BUT now it's the 9th and baby due date was.. oh right YESTERDAY! It's weird how we figured I'd come a little early even if it was a few days or so because that's how it has been for my sisters but no, this baby is enjoying it's time inside the belly rather then coming out and meeting us! I'm just so anxious so see what it looks like and what the gender is! I've been home now for almost 4 weeks from work and I am about to go insane with no baby. I try to look for things to do every day to keep me busy but you can only do so much laundry and dishes before there are no more. So now I have been doing more organizing around the house. Like hanging curtains! (K, well Jeff hung the rod but I take credit for picking the curtains out) I only bought some for our bedroom so far because not sure what the baby room colors are going to be and I have to buy a longer curtain rod for the living-room window! Tuesday when I went to my appointment I bought the cutest little ottomans from The Brick that are tiger print! Jeff was laughing at the pattern but I figured who cares if I have nothing else in the pattern! Their fun and exciting!!!! So now until this baby is here we will keep being patient, well at least what is left :)

So the window on the back of our house is quit big and apparently the birds think it's nice too! We have had at least 5 birds hit the window from the reflexion outside! On Monday night, of course, another bird flew into the window but this time it didn't fly away. Jeff went out onto the deck and there was the bird upside down on the deck! It was so sad because it was so small and injured somehow (but who wouldn't be injured after running into a window...) So Jeff picked it up and held it in his hand. At this point it wasn't flinching or anything just sitting in his hand with his beak shaking. So we decided to put it in a box with a light overnight on the deck and see if it would fly away. It wasn't in the box to long until it flew away on it's own. (to bad, we wanted to keep it ha) Here are some pictures of Jeff and our little friend Herb.

Another doctor visit=1 more cm=2cm!!! Yes one more step closer to having this baby! and 50% instead of 25% thinned! It's getting so close and so exciting! Just trying to be patient and relax but it is hard when all I'm doing is sitting around the house! But cross your fingers, perhaps plans can stay the same and the baby comes right away! So only 2 weeks left and I'm thinking today or tomorrow is the perfect day to have this baby!!! My sisters are planning the shower for next Saturday so we need the baby here or else we are going to have to move it to the following weekend which would be a lot more hectic and unnecessary lol. So this baby needs to listen up and COME OUT! I had my doctor's appointment yesterday and I am 1 cm dilated (it's a start!) and only 25% thinned. I think she might have stripped my membranes a bit without telling me, what a sneaky doctor, but I'm not complaining because I'll take any help I can get! I've also had quite a bit of pink discharge and cramping, she said those are both really good signs. We booked an appointment for Monday but she said, "I just might see you before then..." How exciting would that be!!! So I'm trying to be patient and give it today to see what happens and if nothing I might just do something myself! This weekend would just be perfect timing is all, and the baby will only be a week and a half early which is not bad. Jeff is wanting me to go into labor in the morning sometime so he can get a good sleep the night before lol I don't think that's a bad request if I say so myself. But other than baby stuff everything is same old really. Well here are the belly pictures that Jeff and I got done last week! I was so excited when she said they were done I instantly was calling her to go get them! Ashley is an amazing photographer if your ever looking!

OH THE CRAZINESS!!! Jeff and I are going to be parents in 4 weeks! I wouldn't mind it coming within the next couple weeks because I think my body is about done. We keep wondering what the baby will be and what it'll look like! It makes me that much more excited to meet it! We have everything... I think ha! a couple weekends ago we went on a trip to the states and bought everything we know we will need from onsies to diapers to hygiene stuff to a stroller/car-seat! We love the set we got it's super cute! We've heard not to buy it from the states but after talking a bunch of friends of ours they all get theirs from there so figured what's the worst that could happen. The border didn't even care which was nice! We didn't end up buying to many clothes because we don't want all yellow and greens so we got a few for a girl and few for a boy then once we have it we will buy more that's for sure! Lately I have been getting Braxton Hicks like crazy! I've got them since 20 weeks pregnant at least but now they come on every 5 minutes or so, sometimes Jeff wonders if I'm really have contractions but I figure I'll know when it's the real thing! Lately we have been busy but everything is going good. Jeff hurt his hand Monday when a piece of hardwood kicked back on the table saw and took a good gouge out of his palm but he was mostly in pain from the impact. So all week he couldn't work but it looks to be healing really nicely and he'll be back to work tomorrow! We have been getting more hardwood done these past few nights and it is getting sooo close to being done! I'm getting really excited and it looks amazing! Thanks babe!!! Well one more week of work for me and I'm done!!! It'll be weird not going to work every day because I love where I work and all the girls are so fun to be around and work with, but at the same time I'm excited to be able to stay home. Well I keep telling my sisters i'll put a belly picture up... so.... Here it is!!! And yes it is only my belly but being as pregnant as I am, I just don't feel up to taking pictures lol. Oh and I will post more pictures later from random summer stuff once I get them loaded onto the computer. Until then, Later Gaters!!!

So I figured before the baby was here I wanted to make a blanket but because we don't know the gender I didn't want to go through all the work and make a big, heavier blanket. So until the baby is born I made some receiving blankets and then once it's here i'll try to find the time to make an actual blanket that fits the gender more! 8 Weeks left! It's crazy that Jeff and I are going to be parents so soon! We are excited but a little nervous. I just hope the labor goes well and that we can raise this little one with all the love and support it needs and deserves! We haven't bought a whole lot but next weekend we're going to the states to buy all the necessities we need for when this little baby arrives. We're having the baby shower after the baby is here so we don't end up with everything being yellow and green and also not having to buy everything on our own because it sure adds up!

So... Think we'll make a cute baby???

Braxton hicks?! I think their here to stay! I wasn't exactly sure what braxton hicks were until recently and realized i've been having them for the last week and a half. It's kind of a weird feeling but kind of cool at the same time. I'm not to sure what I think of them when I have to pee because it just squashes the bladder even more! Hopefully I won't end up wetting myself ahha that would be funny... Well kind of... K not really. Oh and to add to my cold and yeast infection(which i'm finally getting over) I have a bladder infection! Not fun, but it comes with pregnancy unfortunately and we have no choice!

Ok ok so I went to get the mail today and found an envelope labeled "Lethbridge Regional Police" and instantly knew it was a photo radar ticket! DANG! So I opened it up and saw it was the truck and on a day I worked, so assumed it was Jeff. Wrong! I did work that day but only till 2:00! And the ticket was written for just after 3:00 and Jeff was already in Lethbridge working and I went into town to get stuff for the house! MY FIRST TICKET! What a shame lol I was doing so good that's for sure. (well not with no speeding but getting away with it lol) So tomorrow I will be paying my very first ticket for $89.00 but at least I won't be getting any demerits!

House-

We're in our house!!! Finally! It feels so good to be in our own place and feel more at home! We still have a few things to get done but other then that everything is unpacked and we are settled, other then everything that goes on the walls and all that fun stuff. I want to wait and see where we get all our furniture then decide where to put everything else. The one thing that is getting to us is no cupboard handles lol I know I know, Your all probably thinking, "Why'd you move in?!" Well that's what we have asked ourselves multiple times, but if you were living with parents you to would want to get in your own place asap! Not that it was bad living with them but being newly married and a baby on the way, we didn't feel settled at all! So back to the cupboards, we are finally picking the handles up today!!! YAY! Can't wait! So the house is coming along.

Pregnancy-

It's been going really good! I don't get morning sickness, doing good not being tired all the time, and the baby is alive! Of course that's a good thing but it is none stop kicking all the time and weird kicking to. Like it is a little spastic in there. I wonder who it gets that from.. ha Well then again both Jeff and I are both crazy people ha. Until now I have been able to avoid getting sick. I woke up yesterday with a stuffy nose, sore throat, and to top it off a yeast infection! FUN!!! Well not really but not much I can do about it other then resting and getting better. Just over 10 weeks to go so let's hope for everything to go smoothly! We are getting anxious!

Father's Day-

Jeff's first Father's Day! Some of you may think that it's stupid to celebrate it with the baby not even born yet, but I think that's the exciting part and mine as well celebrate it starting now! I made Jeff a candy gram (Thanks to sista' for the idea) It turned out so good! He has almost downed all the chocolate bars so I think he liked it to!!! (picture to come when I decide to load the pictures ha) We went to his parents for a little bit that evening to visit with everyone, then headed for dinner with my side of the family! It was a relaxing but fun day!

A little thought on life-

Recently I read a blog of a couple from Utah who were in a massive plane crash. The wife was badly burnt compared to the husband but he did get a good beating as well. They have 5 kids if I remember correctly and after everything that has happened they always seem to find the good in life, even with her never looking the same again. They smile and laugh and play all the time! So that got me thinking about mine and Jeff's life. We don't always have all the money we want or need, we may not have all the toys we want, or the things for the house we want, but I do know that we have eachother and in the end that's all that matters!

I'm grateful for Jeff, for the hard worker he is and the best husband I could ever ask for!

I'm grateful for our baby. Once it's here it will change our lives, maybe not always laughing and smiling, crying and diaper changing comes with it to, but I know it will change us for the better and we will do anything to provide for it and more kids to come in the future.

I'm grateful for our house and the hard work we have done to accomplish such a big job and make it our own.

I'm grateful for family and the love they show us.

I'm grateful that we can get through each day knowing everything's gonna be ok.

I love my life and wouldn't change it for the world! (Well, I guess I wouldn't mind winning the $50 million this friday, is that to much to ask? ;)

Long time no blog!!! Everything is crazy around here that's for sure! We have done so much and yet have so much to do!

April 28- My 20th Birthday!!! Yes I am no longer a teenager that's right! For my birthday I only asked Jeff for one thing and that was a glider with the footrest.. and... I GOT IT! He bought it for me for my birthday/mother's day present because I really wanted it for when the baby comes. But of course we can't take it out of the box because we have no where to put it. So it's in our garage at the new house waiting patiently to be opened.

On April 29 at 5:00a.m. we went to the airport in Calgary to go too HAWAII!! It finally came and now is gone but it was a ton of fun! On our way there we decided to use buddy passes, which in the end didn't really save us any money and caused us a ton of headache! We were wanting to get on the plane at 8:00 to Vancouver but of course the weather was horrible so planes got cancelled and pushed back, so we didn't get out of their till 9:30 and once in Vancouver had to wait 7 hours to fly out to Hawaii on a 5 1/2 hour flight!!! Never again will we do buddy passes! Good thing we had booked our flight home! Minus the whole airport drama the trip was fun! We got their Thursday around 9:30 Hawaii time but were to tired to go out, so we just went to our hotel. (Which was only for the 1 night till Kristy and Brandon got there the next day... luckily.) The hotel room was hilarious because it was so small it just made us laugh! They tried fitting anything possible into it. Table and 2 chairs, 3 dressers, night tables, kingsize bed, and a full bath. It must have only been 200 sq/ft if that!!! Oh well at least we had a balcony which had a good view and it was cheap, memories right!!! The next day Kristy and Brandon flew in so we picked them up and had a week of fun! Full of snorkeling (which by the way Jeff did every day! He loved it!), food, swimming, tans, shopping, hot tubbing, Polynesian Centre, Dole Plantation, big sea turtles, Hanauma Bay, and more! We came back with decent tans and missed the Alberta snow storms! Perfect time for us to get away that's for sure!

So now we're back home to the regular schedule of working and getting the house done! Oh and by the way, Jeff's brother's did our cabinets for us while we were gone!!! It was a big surprise and takes a lot of stress off us! It would have taken us forever.

Mother's Day... was good. lol We didn't do much really other then going to my grandparents with my Dad, since my mom and Steph were in Mexico (lucky girls), and had dinner, hung out for a bit then came home. We are going to go out for dinner this week to make-up for it. But then again I did get my glider and I love it!!!

Well Father's Day is coming up and I have no idea's for Jeff. I will have to brainstorm and see what to do. He says he doesn't want anything but how boring is that being his first Father's Day, even if the baby isn't here! I still want to make it special for him. So any idea's, please throw them my way! Thanks :)

Right now we are living with Jeff's parents which isn't so bad. We get fed and have a place to sleep so it's all good, but we are really wanted to get the house done so we can have a place to ourselves! Cross your fingers we have enough motivation to get in there in a few weeks!!! We have to still put on the countertops which is all cut out and ready to go, finish 2/3 bathroom floor tiling plus grout, hardwood, carpet, railing, and just small finishing stuff! So it's getting there we just have to work hard so we can get settled there before the baby is here!

Yes i'm already 24 weeks pregnant!!! It's so crazy how time flies but in a way I keep hoping it goes by a bit faster because I'm really anxious and excited! We don't know what we're having so that's another thing to look forward to! The baby has been kicking a lot FINALLY! It use to be so idol and sleep all the time but now it loves to roll around and kick! Not huge kicks but enough to have other's feel! That's good enough right?... Jeff felt it really good for the first time the other night, It was really cool! And now he can feel it pretty much every day! But it is mostly moving late at night, hopefully it won't be that way when it's out of me! So far I've gained 18 lbs. which isn't to bad, I just hope it'll come all off in the end ha! I have been getting stretch marks on my boobs, of course, and my butt and area... ha. None on my stomach so far so hopefully maybe it'll stay that way. At least Jeff tells me I look hot! Makes me feel good even though I may not feel it all the time! I have been swelling a little but mostly on and off and only my feet and hands. I decided I don't mind being pregnant. I have nothing to complain about really. I get tired of course and some days feel fatter then others, stretch marks and all that good stuff, but I brought it upon myself lol. I wouldn't change it for the world.

Well it's late and I'm tired and work tomorrow so i'll upload pictures from Hawaii, pregnancy, and house sometime in the near future :) Good night!

We saw him/her! Yes we sure did! The ultrasound went really good! Unfortunately we had a grumpy lady doing it, but we made the best of it. At first I layed on the bed and she took pictures and measured the head, etc. It was kind of frustrating because she wouldn't turn the screen for me to see right away so I sat there for the majority of the time not being able to see. It was really cool for Jeff because he got to see everything!!! I'm kind of jealous but I'm glad he got to experience it the way he did! He wanted to ask the lady if he could move the thing around himself on my belly but because of her "professional attitude" it kind of threw us off so he never asked. Maybe next time!! Then the last 5 mintutes she showed the screen to both of us and I loved every second of it! I held Jeff's hand and I think for me at that moment I knew 100% that I wanted this baby and I know I can't wait to be a mom! The whole time the baby was moving around but of course, I couldn't feel it at all lol, I'm hoping in the next week or so we will be able to feel it kicking and moving around! So last night once we were in bed, Jeff downloaded some classical music and we put earphones on my belly to see if the baby would move. No success! But It was fun to still have the baby listen to music, maybe it'll come out a Baby Einstein lol. At least it is healthy and everything is running smoothly. We just can't wait for this little one to get here, we already love it so much! P.S. Here are pictures of this post and Easter morning, which consisted of Jeff and I hiding each others candy and finding it! It was still fun :)

A "little" update.

Yes a little update because... I felt a little baby kick! Yes, on Monday April 5 I was sitting on the couch and thought I had felt the baby but wasn't to sure. So, I put my hand where I felt it and it kicked!!! I was so excited!!! But for some reason, this baby of ours has been quiet ever since ha. Oh well, i'm hoping this week or next I will feel more because today I am 18 weeks and they say between 18-22 weeks you should feel the baby kicking and moving around. Tomorrow is our first ultrasound! I am really anxious and i'm just hoping the baby is all there! We aren't finding out for this one but maybe the next and then we will see what we like better. Lately I have been getting "round ligament pains". Mostly on my right side so when it gets really bad I lay on my left side and the pain goes away without all the weight sitting on it. My belly is getting bigger! Even my little sister said that she was sad I had no belly but after they got back Monday from their 5 day trip to Oregon, they already noticed my belly getting big! It makes me so comfortable wearing tighter shirts now, now that I have a belly and not just a fatty tummy! Well that's about all that has been happening. The house is slowly but surely coming along and hopefully we been in their once we are back from our trip to Hawaii! Cross your fingers :)

Baby Bump

So finally here is a picture of my baby bump! I am 16weeks + 2 days here. The bump feels like it is getting bigger every day. I get out of bed and put on my clothes and I can just tell it is changing and it makes me so happy! Of course there is the thoughts of stretch marks and gaining weight but I'm not to worried about it because I know it is for the best and in the end we will be so happy with the outcome.. A Baby Schaffer :) I keep wondering what it will look like... Will it have Jeff's nose, my eyes, the Schaffer black hair, or hair like Jeff's when he was a baby which was beach blonde! What I really just pray for though is the baby will come out with all it's limbs attached and be healthy. That is all we can ask for! So I added the baby widget to my sidebar----> I think the baby kind of looks gangly and needs more fat on it lol. But that's why I have to wait another 24 weeks so it can grow big and strong! Well hopefully not to big because I don't think my body would be able to handle a big baby. I'm hoping for 6-7 lbs-ish would be nice. I want a smaller baby because they are so darn cute. Jeff wants a big baby because they always seem to sleep better lol. Jeff also is hoping for a boy and I don't blame him, every dad hopes for a boy so he can fish, camp, and play sports with him. We have already bought 2 things for a boy lol A sleeper that looks like a little baseball uniform with the different colored sleeves, and then we bought a flannel long sleeve button up that is blue and black and it is soooo cute!!! Makes me want to have a boy just so he can wear them. I told Jeff that I now have to buy something for a girl so then we can have one thing for each gender! It's kind of a little challange lol He thinks it'll be a boy and I think a girl. We'll see :) Well here is the picture... Enjoy :)

So it's been a while since, and I figured I should update everyone on what's happening in the life of Jeff and Brittany. Christmas was amazing! We had everyone here and celebrated it at Mom and Dad's. Christmas Eve was split up this year so we got to spend time with both our families and had a blast! New years was spent with my family and it will probably be rare to get everyone together esp. now that everyone's own families are starting to grow and before we know it everyone will be having their own Christmas's by themselves. The last few months have been busy with both Jeff and I working, Jeff working on the house, (hopefully we'll be in end of April no late), and now we have moved in with his parents to save money for... THE BABY!!! Yes it is true we are having a baby and we are sooo excited!!! I am due September 8 which makes me 15 weeks now! At first I kept thinking it was going by sooo slow but now almost 15 weeks along! It's insane! I haven't been to sick just here and there but I think i'm pretty lucky. We also heard the heartbeat last week!!! I could have started to cry but I was laughing to much! I think having Jeff hear the heartbeat made him more excited and made it more realistic! Of course us girls know that we're pregnant with all the changes with the body and stuff but until the Dad hears the heartbeat or goes to the ultrasound, they kind of are dull about the whole thing. Lol not to say Jeff wasn't excited from the beginning but I think now he realizes he is really going to be a dad and I know he is going to be amazing at it!!! We have been saving bottles to save money for baby stuff, so anyone that has recycling... Hand it over!!! Jk but that would help ;) I just recently started to kind of show but I think me more then anyone can notice because all my jeans, except one pair, don't fit to well anymore unfortunately. But more shopping for me right :) We haven't decided 100% if we are going to find out the sex but Jeff, I can tell, is leaning more towards not finding out, I would like either way. They both have their pro's and con's. We have a boy and girl name picked out already and pretty sure we will use them because they are so dang cute!!! For a girl we love Laynie Lynn (possible change with the spelling) and for a boy Talon James. (p.s. what are suggestions on spelling it?) What do you think?! Their cute, I know :) Any other suggestions for names we're opened to! Well enough about the whole pregnancy because what we are really looking forward to is... HAWAII!!!! Yes yes yes!!! We are going in May with Brandon and Kristy and we are so excited! Probably the last getaway without the baby, but there is always parents close by, right?! Anyways that is what is happening right now in our lives. House, Hawaii, and Baby! I think I can settle for that much, because I couldn't ask for anything better! P.S. I'll post a belly picture soon!

ok so i figured i needed to write something on here to make it more exciting while i figure out how to put pictures on here! Well we're busy that's all i can say! we work then i get home tidy the house, make dinner, visit with my hubby, work out, shower, laundry cause it takes us about a full week to finally get it done! We are starting to work out and have goal 6 weeks from now. I'm gonna miss candy! lol. it's pretty much my weakness so jeff is taking all our junk to work every day i feel so alone without it!!! oh well i will look hot in 6 weeks so wish us luck. Ok so i work at the doctor clinic and 3 girls are prego! so i see them every day and i can not wait to have a baby! i pretty much envy them but i know at the right time things will happen. I gotta ask my sister's how they handled it or if they didn't think about it lol?!? but i'm sure they did. We're starting out house soon just gotta wait for the snow to go away and grounds to unthaw. But if anyone has any ideas and advice i am glad to listen! until next time...
